Dato' Jasani qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1974, and gained much of his experience with Grant Thornton in England.

He has been involved in all aspects of professional practice and actively contributes towards the professional development of the accounting standards and practice as a member of the Accounting & Auditing Standards Committee of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

In his professional capacity, Dato' Jasani established the Malaysian chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) in July 2002 where he was the Chairman for 3 years. He has since stepped down from the position but remains actively involved in the Committee as the Immediate Past Chairman. Dato' Jasani also acts as the Secretary for the National Insurance Association of Malaysia (NIAM).
